Green Products

Green products are defined as items and materials that are recycled or designed to use fewer natural resources. These products used to cost a lot more than their store-brand counterparts, but store brands are in on the action now and eco-friendly products are available to a much wider range of people in the United States.

Neighborhood markets large and small now offer at least a selection of green products for kitchen, bath, clothing, lighting, housekeeping, appliances, furnishings and more. Organic food, natural pet supplies, baby and beauty products also abound. Reusable shopping bags are sometimes the first step a person takes into the world of being green.

Green products are also made for the construction industry or have been developed by contractors who recognized a need for less waste and more environmentally sound materials in construction. Fiber-cement siding and standing seam metal roofing are a couple of examples of the innovations taking place in the construction business.
